Terms and Conditions,

Our aim is quite simply to provide you with the very best Orkney produce.

Law of Contract: When shopping with us online, a Contract of Sale is made between us at the time we accept your order. That contract shall be under English law, irrespective of where you live. By confirming your order on the website you are accepting these terms and conditions.

Quality:
All our goods and services comply with all the standards required by relevant legislation

Ordering:
Our web-site is our shop and all orders must be placed on-line. When your order is received, we will automatically confirm receipt but as you will appreciate, no electronic mail system is totally infallible and if an order goes astray we obviously will not know about it. If you do not receive an order acknowledgement it is important that you get in touch with us.

Restaurant, hotel and trade orders:
if you are not already a restaurant, hotel or trade customer please email us and one of our Directors will contact you to discuss how we can help you.

Price:
The price you pay for a product is the price shown on our website at the time of your order. Meat prices vary up or down according to many factors and website prices may be altered at any time.

Delivery:
We are able to offer delivery to all addresses in the UK at a flat rate of £12.50 for up to 28kg gross weight and £12.50 for each 28kg thereafter. Special rates and delivery methods apply to larger quantities - if you wish to discuss a large order, please contact us.

If you live outwith the UK, we may be able to supply you - email us with exact details of where you are and what you are interested in.

Carriage:
We will get your order to you in perfect condition and in the shortest possible time. The delivery method is normally Royal Mail Parcel Post 24 or 48 hour guaranteed delivery though other methods may be used if appropriate.

By placing your order, you are warranting that either someone will be at the address take delivery or that you have given Royal Mail instructions where to leave the parcel. If Royal Mail are to leave the parcel please remember the contents will deteriorate rapidly if it is left in the sun. The delivery shall be considered made either when the consignee accepts delivery in person, or when Royal Mail leave the parcel at the unattended premises.

Food hygiene:
The meat we supply is fresh and chilled, not frozen. It must be kept cool and it is essential that you refrigerate your order as soon as you receive it. If you are not intending to cook your order within 24 hours of receipt you must freeze it.

Packaging:
Our packaging is designed and proven to keep meat at the appropriate temperature for at least 48 hours. Our meat is vacuum–sealed, then packed in an insulated box along with a layer of special material which is similar to a freezer pack. This material can be disposed of in normal household rubbish, or safely re-used in your cool-box or hamper. A couple of hours in the freezer will prepare it and it can be used repeatedly.

In local areas only (i.e. Orkney mainland) we will deliver directly to your door in our own refrigerated vehicle, and packaging will vary from that described above.

Weight Variation:
When you place your order, it will be for a nominal weight of produce, at a specified price. Because orders are individually prepared, there may be some small variation in weight above or below the weight you choose, and it is impractical for us to request additional payments or process small refunds. We will ensure that this variation never exceeds more or less than 10% of any item specified. Items delivered within 10% of the weight ordered shall be deemed complete.

Product substitution:
When you place your order, it will be for a particular product or selection of products. Some products – such as North Ronaldsay Lamb – are seasonal and others are always in short supply. There may also be occasions when our suppliers cannot match our demand for prime products and despite best efforts it is possible that we may not always carry stock of everything shown on our web-site. If you order a product which is currently out of stock we will not substitute: we will contact you the day we receive your order to ask your instructions.

Guarantee of Satisfaction:
If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the quality of the produce received, you should contact us within 24 hours of receipt. All complaints will be dealt with personally and immediately by one of our Directors and we undertake to resolve all complaints to your satisfaction within 7 days. Your statutory rights are not affected. You will understand that due to their perishable nature we are not able to accept returned goods or claims for goods ordered in error.

Non-Delivery Claims:
In the event of your order failing to arrive when expected, please contact us by email within 24 hours of the expected delivery quoting your order number. We will immediately investigate and let you know the situation. Should your order not be delivered within 1 working day of the date given in the website acknowledgement, you will be entitled to a full and immediate refund.

Cancellation:
Your order may well be processed within minutes of you sending it so we have to say that when it’s gone, it’s gone: an order once placed cannot be cancelled or amended.

Data Protection:
All personal data we collect from you will be used exclusively for the purposes of our relationship, to help us offer improved or new services to you, and may be stored on our computers. Your details will be held securely, in confidence, and never disclosed to any third party. We respect your privacy and do not share customer data.
